Electrical services for South Coast homes
From a single new fixture to full remodel wiring, every job is led by Licensed Master Electrician David Petersen and finished cleanly.

Lighting design & installation
Good lighting is the difference between a room that looks finished and one that just works. We plan fixture placement around your layout, cabinets and furniture, then install everything so it looks clean and lines up.
- Recessed (can) lighting
- Pendants & chandeliers
- Under-cabinet lighting
- Vanity & bath lighting
- Dimmers & lighting controls
- Exterior & landscape lighting
- Outdoor flood & security lights
- LED retrofits
Standby generator installation
Storms on the South Coast knock the power out more often than anyone would like. A properly installed generator keeps your heat, well pump, refrigerator and sump pump running until the lines are back up.
- Portable generator hookups with a manual transfer switch or interlock
- Automatic standby generators that start on their own when the power drops
- Load planning so the circuits that matter most stay on
- Permits, inspection and a walkthrough of how your system works
Panel & service upgrades
Older panels were never designed for today’s kitchens, heat pumps and EV chargers. If you are planning a remodel or addition, adding a generator, or your breakers trip often, it may be time for an upgrade.
- Panel replacements and fuse box upgrades
- Service upgrades for more amperage
- Subpanels for additions, garages and workshops
- Coordination with the utility, permits and inspection

Common questions
Do you give free estimates?
Yes. Tell us about the project through the quote form or give us a call, and we will set up a time to look at the job and give you a clear written price.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. David Petersen is a Licensed Master Electrician in Massachusetts, and Petersen Electric is fully insured. We pull permits for work that requires them.
What size generator do I need?
It depends on what you want to keep running during an outage: heat, well pump, refrigerator, sump pump or the whole house. We walk through your needs and your panel, then recommend a setup that fits.
How do I know if I need a panel upgrade?
Common signs are frequent tripping breakers, an older fuse box, no open spaces for new circuits, or plans for a remodel, addition, generator or EV charger. We can look at your panel and tell you what makes sense.
Can you work with my builder or kitchen designer?
Absolutely. Much of our work is part of remodels, and we are used to coordinating with contractors, carpenters and designers on lighting plans and rough-in schedules.
Do you do commercial work?
Our focus is residential, but we do take on select light commercial projects such as office renovations and small new construction. Call to talk it over.
Ready to plan your project?
Tell us what you have in mind. Dave will follow up to talk it through and set up a time to see the job.
